This varies by musical, but I may join as a producer or co-producer while providing my expertise in conversion rate optimization, creative production, digital marketing, or strategy consulting to help the show. I offer musicals value in several ways: 1) A NEW-AGE, ENGINEERING APPROACH TO MARKETING AND CRO: Conversion rate optimization is probably the most overlooked part of marketing - unfortunate because because it offers the most value. How good are you at getting people to convert - click through and ultimately buy tickets? Most marketing agencies in the industry will create content, do simple A/B testing, and then pick the winners and run with them. Unfortunately, that is almost certainly leaving you with suboptimal results. Why? Because when you A/B test ads, you are not actually testing two variables as it seems - you are testing at least seven: the image, the headline, the offer, the call to action, and more. So, when an agency gets a "winner", they don't know *why* the winner has won - which variables are helping and hurting? And because of that, you have actually learned almost nothing about your audience and their preferences. Did they like the image you used, or maybe it the headline and the other image was better? Maybe it was neither and was just the offer. There's no way to know. This is a huge lost opportunity because that knowledge can be used to optimize all other areas for your production - not just your online ads, but your billboards, your marquee, your Tony song choice, and more. Improving your conversion rate by just 1% (and certainly 10%+) can dramatically increase ticket sales and financial return. It can be the difference between success and failure. Yet so many shows ignore it. I help musicals and businesses implement these methods to ensure success. 2) CREATIVE PRODUCTION: I co-wrote and co-produced my first musical in high school, and since then have worked on Our Little Secret (planning off-Broadway 2026) and co-produced on Operation Mincemeat (Broadway). I love helping shows workshop the script, score, and story to ensure it lands with mass audiences. 3) BUSINESS STRATEGY: Using my background in strategy consulting and Harvard MBA, I love helping productions with business strategy.
